Frequently Asked Questions
Is this ultrasound medical?
No. Sapphire Sonography Studio provides elective ultrasounds for entertainment purposes only. Our sessions do not replace any part of your prenatal care. We do not diagnose, measure, or medically assess you or your baby.
For medical or diagnostic ultrasounds contact Flexible Medical Imaging, our parent company.
Do I need to be under the care of a doctor or midwife to book a session?
Yes. Clients must provide proof that they are under the care of a licensed healthcare provider and have confirmed their pregnancy before their session.
When is the best time to schedule a 3D/4D ultrasound?
For the best images of your baby’s face, we recommend scheduling between 26 and 32 weeks. Earlier sessions may show more of the full body, while later sessions may capture fuller facial features. We don't recommend sessions past 32 weeks because it becomes more challenging to capture clear images due to the baby's position and the decreasing amount of amniotic fluid.
Can I bring guests to my appointment?
Yes! We welcome you to share this special moment with your loved ones. Please let us know ahead of time if you have more than four guests to ensure a comfortable experience for everyone.
Are kids welcome?
Of course! This is a family friendly environment.
What should I do to prepare for my session?
We recommend drinking plenty of water in the days leading up to your appointment (even more than usual!). Good hydration can help improve image clarity. We also suggest eating a light snack about 30 minutes before your session to encourage baby to be active.
What happens if my baby is not in a good position?
Babies have their own plans sometimes! If we’re unable to get clear images, we offer one complimentary rescan within 1–2 weeks (restrictions may apply; please ask about our rescan policy).
Will I receive photos and videos from my session?
Yes! All of our packages include digital keepsakes, with options for printed photos, video recordings, and additional add-ons. Specific details will vary depending on the package you select.
What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?
We kindly ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to reschedule or cancel.
What is a 2D ultrasound?
A 2D ultrasound captures flat, black-and-white images of your baby. It’s the traditional ultrasound you often see in medical settings and is wonderful for viewing basic outlines, movement, and hearing the heartbeat.
What is a 3D ultrasound?
A 3D ultrasound captures three-dimensional still images of your baby. You’ll be able to see more defined features like the shape of the baby's face, hands, and feet, offering a beautiful glimpse into their growing personality.
What is a 4D ultrasound?
A 4D ultrasound adds the element of time to 3D imaging, allowing you to watch real-time movements — like kicks, stretches, yawns, and smiles — in video format. It creates a truly magical bonding experience!
What is an HD ultrasound?
HD (High Definition) ultrasound, sometimes referred to as "HDlive," provides even more detailed, life-like images by enhancing lighting and skin tone textures.
We currently do not offer HD ultrasound at this time — however, we invite you to explore our beautiful Photo-Realistic Rendering services for stunningly clear and artistic images of your little one!
